Picasso Portraits

Students in Mrs. Polson's 2nd grade class created abstract portraits this week in Art class. Picasso used color to create mood in his artwork. He had a time in his life when he was very sad and painted in mostly blues. This was called his 'blue period'.

When his life became happier, he painted using reds during his 'rose period'. The students selected blues for sad portraits, and reds to show happy.
